About the Artist: In October 2004 Carol took part in the International Training Course in Ceramic Art in Jingdezhen China. She was inspired by the fine art of painting on pottery and this inspired her to be versatile in her approach to pottery. In March 2005 she learned about wood firing in Taiwan and gained some practical experience in firing and glazing. She believes in experimenting and keeping an open mind and through observation and studying the styles of various contemporary artists, She hopes to develop her own style in art one day. |
Carol¡¯s love for art began when she was very young. However, her
endeavors in artwork started only in the early 90¡¯s. She took up
Chinese Brush Painting at the beginning and later ventured into
clay works after participating in pottery classes at Outram Park
Community Centre. Presently, she continues her pottery practice
in Tanjong Pagar Community Club under the guidance of Mr. Pang Hoi
Seong.
