About the Artist:

Each vessel is an individual statement, both in form and in the way the clay is worked to its absolute limit ! often exposing slight imperfections. Through this process the natural flow and essence of the clay comes to life. I strive to make each piece absolutely thin in an effort to show the movement and life of the clay as an organic entity. The edges are always left uncut to allow each piece a final statement - if small cracks or tears appear during this stage they are left to remind us ´ that nobody ! or nothing ! is perfect. Imperfections reflect individuality.

The non-functional pieces are always fired in a gas kiln - reduction atmosphere,
1280 °C. I usually glaze lightly to emphasize the form in shades of white, grey ! occasionally blacks and shades of ocean.

I have participated in various solo and group exhibitions in Singapore and Canada. The exhibitions in Singapore include Clay Pieces Exhibition at The National Museum ! group exhibition, Contours ! solo exhibition at The Substation, Rhythm and Vitality Exhibition at The Empress Place Art Gallery and UnCut ! solo exhibition at Art 2 Gallery.

My works are currently displayed in D¨Apres Nous on 111 Emerald Hill and Art 2 Gallery, MICA Building.

Visitors are most welcome to the studio ! please call in advance.
