Mrs Toh-Tan Ah Chiew

Biography:
It was the opening ceremony of Jalan Bahar Clay Studios on 1 1 November 2006. I remembered it was the fint time ljoined my husband, Mr. Toh Kiam Hock, to attend the 'firing-up'ceremony, The dragon klin was like a 'dormant' volcano waiting to explode, after napping for 20 years. The legend of the dragon klin as told by the artist there, has been both amazing and intriguing. My appreciation towards pottery was thus largely increased.

I had been interested in all kinds of art since my school days. From drawings, painting, calligraphy to the current pottery making .,, the feeling is simply wonderful, I felt as if I am immersed in a world of my own.

As a beginner, encouragement & motivation is important to me. Special thanks to my instructors, Mr, lskandar, Mr Pang Hoi Seong, Ms Suriani, Mr Low Kok Hwee and lastly, to my beloved husband & partner - Mr. Toh Kiam Hock.

Call it fate, opportunities or luck ,., this have always been my childhood ambition .,, to be able to fulfil it in my golden years, was one of the best thing that have happen to me.
