About the Artist: Kee
Eng started working with clay in 1993 when she stumbled upon the
pottery programme at the Outram Park Community Centre. She found
that she had a natural affinity with pottery as it employed similar
principles as cake making.
She uses coiling and slab work to create natural forms and employs
bits of nature such as wood bark and leaves to provide texture for
her work. Her interest in nature extends to creating vases to complement
the beauty of floral arrangements. She finds that matte glazes interesting
as the interaction with the firing produces interesting results.
