Tan Joo Ean

About the Artist
Joo Ean began pottery in 2003. She enjoys the challenge of working on the wheel and also uses coiling to create sculptural forms. She is currently exploring faceted forms on the wheel – the juxtapositioning of flat and spherical dimensions creates an interesting aesthetic.

Her fascination with clay arises from the combination of technical process and artistic expression. Clay has physical properties that needs to be understood in order to use it as a medium of expression.
